Delicious food, especially its original Fish Head Noodle soup, is the best in town! You can't go wrong with it! We reckon the big plate of dry Fish Head Noodle with Spring Onion is the second best in the restaurant! 👍🏼 There is still room to improve for the customer service area, though. If this is improved, then customers will feel better atmosphere in the restaurant. 🙏🏼

Fish head vermicelli noodles were the worst I’ve ever had! The fish pieces were all over fried and inedible. The soup was also bland. Advised the staff of this and their only response was that all the fish was like this according to the chef. Didn’t offer a remake or refund. Appalling standards and customer service - don’t bother coming here.

Went there on the night there is two empty tables next to the window which my daughter wants to sit next to the window(there are only two group of customers in the restaurant), but the waitress said it all reserved( which is all empty during my stay in the restaurant about 40mins) ordered “famous” fish head noodle soup, it was shocked, it’s so greasy, it looks like they put some boiling oil on top of it before they bring out, I even want to vomit after having that, strongly not recommended this place

We went to this restaurant on a Monday night for dinner and was surprised that it was so busy. We ordered the 'king vegetable', which was tasty. The claypot ginger chicken didn't have any ginger taste. The dish had curry was OK. The tofu egg dish was a bit confusing as it looked like a cold dish, but it was not. Noticed a lot of people ordering the curry fish head curry noodle, and the fish head noodles soup. Recommended to make a booking for meals. Plenty of parking in the rear of the restaurant.

An extremely popular Malaysian spot for locals, Kitchen Malaysian is always buzzing with diners who come for their famed fish head noodle soup. The fish head noodle soup has several soup base options, but the original is always the best. I've always been fortunate enough to find meaty pieces of rockling in my soup! The Har Mee (prawn noodles) is another tasty option I'd highly recommend here. The soup has such a fragrant prawn taste to it, and it's always tempting to want to drink the whole bowl of soup.

Hainanese Chicken Rice was not bad, except it had way too many bones in the chicken, even small chipped bones! Ruined my lunch experience. This dish is famous for using boneless chicken, except I feel that they gave us all the boney pieces instead, to make it look like a large portion. Very deceiving. I filled up my empty soup bowl with all the bones!! My mother was scared of swallowing chipped bones and choking. Very disappointing!! 😒 I've had better Hainanese Chicken Rice elsewhere. Also the rice portion was smaller than expected. The soup was not served hot, more like luke warm. They gave very little chili sauce and even forgot to give the "standard" ginger sauce!! And where was the cucumber??!! Not very authentic at all. I have eaten this dish in 4 different countries (Singapore, Malaysia, Brunei, Australia) and this preparation by Kitchen Malaysian is by far the most inferior and not worth the money spent. Service is not as good as other restaurants I've been to. If we go again (which I highly doubt after this review), I will order the nasi lemak instead, or maybe request "no bones" in the hainanese chicken rice... or maybe just go somewhere else.... Junior Tan Hawker Kitchen in Bayswater has 100x better service, quality food and generous portions!! Even Laksa Village is better than Kitchen Malaysian!! 😋

Really nice setting and unsuspecting as Kitchen Malaysia looks like a normal house renovated to be a restaurant. One of the biggest reasons coming here was to get the fish head curry. But unfortunately they do not serve it Friday-Sunday for some reason, very disappointing. We ended up ordering three dishes, the chicken and beef rangdang laksa and the Nasi lemak. These were some generous portion sizes but typical for Malaysian cuisine. The laksa broth was one of the most flavoursome I've had, lots of depth and slightly spicy, 3/10 level. However the beef was a bit tough, not as fall apart as I would have liked. The chicken was just shredded roast chicken I assume, not a thigh piece like I would have liked. The Nasi lemak was okay... it wasn't served with coconut rice which it usually is. Nothing special to write home about 3/5. Overall it's a nice place to eat but the food is average at best.

This was a nice busy store on a Sunday night. Never really noticed it till recently. It is nice to bring enough to bring your Malaysian auntie for a decent feed. 1.Laska soup was creamy and nice with good tinge of spiciness. Careful to choose what you decide to put with the soup as it ruined the palate by adding yong tofu. That is a poor choice on the other person who ordered it. 2. Lobak tasted like a steamed pork sausage but we all know what pork taste like here in melbourne. 3. Beef rendang was soft and tender. It was great.
